As I was surfing the net on Tuesday night, despite having uptodate virus protection, I got a virus, that killed my PC, I couldnt get in to safe mode, or boot from CD to try and save it, and since it was 2 and a half years old machine I decided to bin it as it was not worth getting fixed. I then bought a new pc with Windows 7 64bit only to find that firewire cards that work with it are like gold dust at the moment. Thank god I did not do my annual German christmas markets trip, this is the day I would have left, and all the flights from Terminal 5 have been cancelled, makes you wonder if people will risk flying between November and February for holidays just incase of something like this, I know I wont anymore until we learn to cope with it after getting stranded in Munich last year. I know people say it's not a regular thing, but how many years of snow do we have to have before we prepare, just think of how many businesses cant function because of this and how many £££ have been lost.
