Another busy week this week, I have a very varied life, modelling, being a mistress, filming for my site as well as all the normal things I have to do.

One thing that is annoying are all the time-wasters I get,  you would be amazed how many people book me and don't show up or cancel at the last minute.

 Top cancellation excuses for Slaves And Photographers

1\ Work called them to unexpectedly go into work at the last minute.

(I now tell people if work could interfere, to only book me last minute on the day.  Just telling people this has cut down my cancellations drastically, its amazing how many people book me on the off chance they can come over)

2\ Family member seriously ill, mostly with heart attacks and strokes.

3\ Car breaks down.

4\ Wife home early/unexpectedly.

4\ Don't have the money after all, can they book me in a few days when their pay clears in the bank!

If someone is a regular who has booked me a lot I will probably believe them, but the amount of people who's family members get seriously ill before they book me is frightening, maybe I am giving out bad vibes over the phone which also wreck peoples cars, and make their bosses call them!!!!

One memorable cancellation was when an amateur photographer booked me, he then emailed me canceling on the day as a sick relative, a young child, was on her deathbed and was due to die in the next 48 hours.  I felt terrible and told him I was very sorry about it and to feel free to book me again.  He did indeed book me again, and then told me how sorry he was about canceling last time, he admitted his wife had caught him leaving the house with his camera equipment and told him he couldn't go, she knew about his on again off again hobby and that was that.  Thing is he hadnt remembered telling me about the sick relative, I kept quiet but would have preferred he had just told me the truth in the first place.  If you going to lie, remember the story!!

 Even some professionals cancel last minute, and the trouble is, you never get a cancellation fee and I couldnt talk about it on here, I would never get booked again, however, I wouldn't give up what I do, as one professional photographer told me when I had been modelling for a few months when I moaned about it "Its the nature of the business, and if you cant put up with it, get another job!" harsh words but so true.  When you go on photography forums they all moan about models no-showing and canceling, I think its bad on either side and something that cant be fixed.

 On the upside, I have a great time, and really enjoy the photography and the sessions I do, and I think it comes over when I meet people, and I feel very lucky that after 4 years in the business I am still in demand and getting work.
